Our Story

AMBER & ME was founded during a pandemic crisis as a motor to express art.

We believe that jewellery not only symbolizes beauty but it also tells a story. Your story.

We take delight in the subtle imperfections found within each consciously customized piece.

Every jewelry creation at AMBER & ME is crafted with careful attention to detail, ensuring that it carries the essence of your individuality. We believe that it is in these intentional imperfections that the true beauty of your story unfolds, inviting you to build upon it with your own experiences and emotions.

Our name was inspired by the fossilized resin from ancient evergreen trees since it embodies the capacity of transmuting any negativity into positive energy.

It is also believed that amber balances emotions, attracts good luck and has healing properties connecting with nature’s spirit. We hope to evoke these same attributes and empower emotion through the creation of our pieces.

The designer

Graphic Designer and Multimedia specialist, Sophie creates every piece merging her professional skills with her devotion to art, sculpture, and painting. In jewelry, she discovered a perfect way to convey her knowledge and love through every piece she makes.

Passionate and creative, her artist background constantly seeking adventure merges contemporary vision with skillful artistry to create elegant designs.

Her keen eye for detail and passion for handcrafting leads her to find beauty in the creation of each unique piece of jewelry.

With a deep connection to the ocean and a passion for riding its waves, Sophie draws inspiration from the ever-changing tides and the serenity found in the vastness of the sea. As a traveler, she explores different cultures, immersing herself in the beauty and diversity of the world, which further influences her artistic vision.

Being a mother has added an even deeper layer to Sophie's creations. Her love for her daughter and the nurturing instincts of motherhood fuel her craftsmanship, infusing each piece with a profound sense of care and dedication. Through her hands, she weaves love and affection into every design, crafting jewelry that holds a special place in the hearts of those who wear it.

Sophie's multi-faceted identity as a sea lover, surfer, traveler, and mom shapes her artistic perspective, infusing her designs with a unique blend of adventurous spirit, tranquility, and boundless love. It is through her hands that she creates wearable art, capturing the essence of her passions and enabling others to carry a piece of her journey with them.

We are strong believers that life is a spinning wheel and, therefore, we are committed to contributing to its flow. Every purchase you make with us is helping us to help others.

We proudly support entrepreneur women as we like to think of us as ones.

A percentage of our profits are destined to contribute to a South American nonprofit organization that works with specific projects and real people.We chose “Desde Tu Lugar” for its transparency and visibility they give to each project and their results. We decided, then, to collaborate with every project they get into related to women and the possibility to help them raise.

Philosophy

• HANDMADE

Every AMBER & ME creation is designed by Sophie in our workshop located in Sydney, using traditional handmade and crafting methods. We create each piece carefully personalized to order and thought for you. Shaping them to their right measure and form gives us joy. We believe the purest piece is the one we shape with our own hands, rather than a mass production one. Our artistic background – sculpture, painting and art – leads us to choose handmade production, which makes us enjoy putting our hands to business, connecting with each piece and inspired by you. 

• SUSTAINABLE

Our jewellery is designed for daily wear and to last a lifetime. We are deeply convinced that by creating durable pieces, we help encourage us to reduce our impact on the planet. This is why we only use durable materials of the best quality.

Committed to ethical and sustainable practices, we have adopted low or zero waste processes. We mindfully procure all the scrap metal that the process has is re-used for new designs at the end of the day. We maximize waste reduction by continually remodel, repair and recycle.

• LOCALLY MADE

We are pleased to work with Australian jewelers, supporting the local industry, and honored that our original handmade jewellery is made from recycled precious metals.

AMBER & ME is a proudly small Australian business based in the Northern Beaches, where our workshop was founded. We believe that we all should support our local industry, especially during these unfortunate pandemic times.

"My first golden ring was a precious gift from my grandfather to my mom. He presented it to her many years ago, and I can still vividly remember how I yearned to play with it as a child.
